For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
A non-tropical area of low pressure could develop a few hundred
miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands by Thursday or
Friday. This system could gradually acquire some subtropical
characteristics while it moves slowly northward to north-
northeastward. Additional outlooks on this system will only be
issued if the development potential increases significantly.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.
This is the last regularly scheduled Tropical Weather Outlook of the
2014 Atlantic hurricane season. Routine issuance of the Tropical
Weather Outlook will resume on June 1, 2015. During the off-season,
Special Tropical Weather Outlooks will be issued as conditions
warrant.

MIDWEEK RED TIDE UPDATE (March 3) 

No new water samples have been received this week from the east coast of Florida.

No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected in water samples collected late last week offshore of Citrus County in northwest Florida.

In southwest Florida, no Karenia brevis was detected in water samples collected early this week alongshore of Sarasota and Collier counties. Samples collected late last week north of the Florida Keys (Monroe County) also contained no K. brevis. Sampling will continue this week and complete results will be available in the next scheduled status report on Friday, March 6.

REGIONAL RED TIDE SUMMARIES (February 27)
East Region:  No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in a single water sample collected from the Indian River Lagoon (Brevard County). Additional offshore samples collected east of Martin County also contained no K. brevis.
Northwest Region:  No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in a single water sample collected alongshore Escambia County. Additional offshore samples collected south of Escambia, Okaloosa and Walton counties also contained no K. brevis.
Southwest Region:  No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in water samples collected alongshore between Pinellas and Collier counties. Background concentrations of K. brevis were detected in a single sample collected alongshore of the Huston River inside of the Everglades National Park (Monroe County). Additional offshore samples collected west of Lee and Monroe counties also contained no K. brevis.

FWRI updates the recording each Friday by 5 p.m. after sampling efforts for the week have been completed and analyzed.
