NWS Forecast for: 2NM S Mayport FL

Issued by: National Weather Service Jacksonville, FL
Last Update: 11:18 am EST Feb 18, 2019

Synopsis: A cold front will push across the Georgia waters towards noon and through the northeast Florida waters during the mid afternoon hours. Winds will shift to north northwesterly this afternoon and will quickly veer to northeasterly after midnight, with Small Craft Advisory conditions developing offshore before sunrise. Strong high pressure will build southeastward from the Plains States into the Ohio Valley tonight and the Mid-Atlantic states by late Tuesday. This feature will wedge down the southeastern seaboard on Tuesday and Tuesday night, resulting in strengthening onshore winds and building seas. Another low pressure center will then move northward from the western Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday into the lower Mississippi Valley Tuesday night, which will lift a warm front through the northeast Florida waters and then the Georgia waters on Wednesday. This front will stall to the north of our waters late this week, with southerly winds prevailing.
