Synopsis: A PERIOD OF ROUGH BOATING CONDITIONS IS IN THE FORECAST THROUGH AT LEAST THE EARLY PORTION OF THE WEEK. LOW PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN OVERNIGHT NEAR THE FLORIDA EAST COAST AND THEN RAPIDLY INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE WESTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN DURING SUNDAY. THE GRADIENT WILL TIGHTEN OVERNIGHT ON THE BACKSIDE OF THIS SYSTEM ACROSS THE EASTERN GULF...WITH WINDS AND SEAS BUILDING TO ADVISORY LEVELS. ADVISORY LEVEL CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST OVER THE FORECAST WATERS THROUGH MUCH OF SUNDAY BEFORE BRIEFLY SUBSIDING SUNDAY NIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY. THIS DECREASE IN WINDS AND SEAS WILL NOT LAST LONG AS THE NEXT SURGE OF WINDS TO ADVISORY LEVEL ARRIVES OVER THE EASTERN GULF LATER MONDAY INTO MONDAY NIGHT.


Overnight: N wind around 14 kt. A slight chance of showers before 1am. Seas around 1 ft.

Sunday: NNW wind 14 to 16 kt, with gusts as high as 22 kt. Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny. Seas around 1 ft.

Sunday Night: NW wind 7 to 12 kt. Clear. Seas around 1 ft.

Monday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming WSW 12 to 17 kt in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 kt. A slight chance of showers after 1pm. Seas around 1 ft.

Monday Night: W wind 15 to 18 kt becoming NW after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 kt. A chance of showers before 1am. Seas around 1 ft.

Tuesday: WNW wind around 21 kt, with gusts as high as 29 kt. Mostly sunny. Seas around 1 ft.

Tuesday Night: NW wind 16 to 21 kt, with gusts as high as 29 kt. Partly cloudy. Seas around 1 ft.

Wednesday: WNW wind 14 to 16 kt, with gusts as high as 22 kt. Sunny. Seas 1 ft or less.

Wednesday Night: WNW wind 8 to 15 kt becoming N after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 kt. Mostly clear. Seas 1 ft or less.

Storm Alex, located a few hundred miles south-southwest of the
Azores.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.

Routine issuance of the Tropical Weather Outlook will resume on
June 1, 2016. During the off-season, Special Tropical Weather
Outlooks will be issued as conditions warrant.
