Synopsis: High pressure ridge will retreat to the East through Sunday as Alberto moves North through the Gulf. Winds and seas will become elevated Sunday as the pressure gradient becomes amplified over the region. Alberto will reach the Northern Gulf coast Monday, then move further inland, as high pressure builds East of the region. A front will slide Southeast over the region late in the week.


Overnight: ESE wind around 10 kt. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Seas 1 ft or less.

Sunday: SE wind 14 to 16 kt, with gusts as high as 24 kt. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Seas 1 ft or less.

Sunday Night: SSE wind 12 to 16 kt, with gusts as high as 24 kt. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 2am, then a slight chance of showers after 2am. Seas 1 to 2 ft.

Memorial Day: SSE wind 11 to 13 kt, with gusts as high as 20 kt. A slight chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 8am. Seas 1 ft or less.

Monday Night: SSE wind 9 to 11 kt, with gusts as high as 17 kt. Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a chance of showers. Seas 1 ft or less.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on newly formed
Subtropical Storm Alberto, located over the northwestern Caribbean
Sea just east of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.

Routine issuance of the Tropical Weather Outlook will resume on 1
June.
