Synopsis: Surface high pressure extending southwest across the north central Florida peninsula will sink south to across the southern peninsula by the end of the week. Tranquil boating conditions with light northeast to east winds with slight seas and an onshore sea breeze component developing along the coast in the afternoon can be expected across the waters through Wednesday, with scattered thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours. During Thursday and Friday, a southwest to west wind flow will develop over the waters with scattered showers and storms expected along the coast during the late night and morning hours, then moving to inland locations during the afternoon and evening. Wind and seas will be higher in the vicinity of thunderstorms, otherwise no headlines are expected.
Overnight: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Partly cloudy. Seas 1 ft or less.

Tuesday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Partly sunny. Seas 1 ft or less.

Tuesday Night: W wind around 6 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 10pm. Seas 1 ft or less.

Wednesday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming WSW 5 to 7 kt in the morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10am and 1pm. Seas 1 ft or less.

Wednesday Night: W wind around 7 kt. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Seas 1 ft or less.

Thursday: W wind 5 to 8 kt. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm. Seas 1 ft or less.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

Surface observations and WSR-88D Doppler radar data indicate that
a surface trough associated with a mid- and upper-level low
pressure system has remained stationary near the Texas coast during
the day. This system continues to produce a widespread area of
cloudiness and disorganized showers and thunderstorms, accompanied
by strong gusty winds, over the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. Heavy
rainfall and flash flooding across portions of southern and
southeastern Texas are likely to continue during the next few days.
