For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Erika, located between Haiti and Cuba.

Showers and thunderstorms have increased in association with
a broad area of low pressure located just west of the coast of west
Africa. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for
development, and a tropical depression could form during the next
few days while the system moves west-northwestward or northwestward
toward the Cape Verde Islands at about 10 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent

THE REMNANTS OF A COASTAL FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO DISSIPATE NEAR THE
COASTAL WATERS THROUGH SATURDAY. ATLANTIC HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN
IN PLACE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL CYCLONE
ERIKA COULD IMPACT THE SOUTHEAST U.S. BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
