For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
Showers and thunderstorms have become more concentrated in
association with an elongated area of low pressure located a couple
hundred miles east-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. However,
development of this system is becoming less likely due to
increasingly unfavorable upper-level winds. This low should move
generally northwestward and could bring heavy rainfall to portions
of the Cape Verde Islands later this weekend.

SYNOPSIS

A FAIRLY BRIEF NORTHEAST SURGE IS EXPECTED TODAY...WITH AREA WATERS
BETWEEN HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH...AND DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE
OVER THE FL WATERS. THIS LOW NEAR THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COAST
WILL MOVE NORTHEAST OF THE REGION TONIGHT. AS THE LOW TRACKS AWAY
THE GRADIENT WILL WEAKEN AND WINDS AND SEAS SUBSIDE FOR LATER
TONIGHT. A FAIRLY BROAD RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE ACROSS THE
REGION THEN INTO THE EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK. A PERIOD OF
