Synopsis: Conditions will deteriorate rapidly on Friday as Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 moves northeast toward the waters. This system will move across the waters Friday night into Saturday, with the combination of strongest winds and highest seas occuring during this time frame. Sustained winds of 35 to 45 knots with higher gusts and significant wave heights of 20 to 25 feet, except 10 to 15 feet in Apalachee Bay are expected. More tranquil boating conditions should return sometime on Sunday.


Overnight: E wind around 10 kt. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Seas 1 ft or less. Dominant period 6 seconds.

Friday: E wind 10 to 20 kt. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a chance of showers between 7am and 1pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Seas 1 ft or less. Dominant period 5 to 6 seconds.

Friday Night: Tropical storm conditions expected. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Seas 2 ft building to 7 ft with occasional seas up to 9 ft. Dominant period 7 seconds increasing to 11 seconds.

Saturday: Tropical storm conditions expected. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Seas 8 ft with occasional seas up to 10 ft subsiding to 4 ft with occasional seas up to 5 ft. Dominant period 9 to 11 seconds.

Saturday Night: NW wind 5 to 10 kt becoming N after midnight. A slight chance of showers before 1am. Seas 2 to 3 ft with occasional seas up to 4 ft.

Sunday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Sunny. Seas 1 to 2 ft.

Sunday Night: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Mostly clear. Seas around 1 ft.

Monday: S wind 5 to 10 kt. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Seas around 1 ft.

Monday Night: S wind around 10 kt becoming SW after midnight. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Seas around 2 ft.
